Collings MT2 Mandolin #1566

$4,250.00

A delightful A-style mandolin from Collings. Serial number 1566, signed by Bill Collings, himself. All original hardware. A truly beautiful voice. Warm and resonant, and destined to only sound better with time. K&K pickup installed, so it’s ready for the stage if you want to plug it in. I got this as backup instrument. I love it, but it’s just kind of too great to mostly be living in its case, and I’d like to put in the hands of someone who will play it and give it the time and attention it’s due.

THE PACKAGE: I’m selling the instrument with its original hardshell case, a Recurve case from Northfield, a Tonegard, a premium armrest from Dan Voight, and string dampeners for behind the bridge.

*NOTES:

1) When I received the instrument, the treble-side f-hole had a crack at either end, structurally well-repaired. There are imperfections on the finish on those two areas, but functionally things look and sound rock solid. The rest of the mandolin is in great shape.

2) There is at times a mild buzz beneath the bridge on the bass side, which I believe is due to a loose wire on the pickup to one of the transducers attached to the underside of the top. It likely just needs some tape or adhesive, and it’s good to go. But as is, it is not terribly noticeable.

*I have priced the instrument with these factors in mind.
